Over at Parenting today: Twins Make People Stupid. (I know… clever title.)
This is moi sharing with vous some of the funny (okay, stupid) things people have said to us… Like asking if our boy/girl twins are identical. If you don’t know why that is funny (or stupid), you might want to go over and read. (I’m not sure why I’m mixing French in there, except that I don’t necessarily exclude myself from this stupidity so maybe I’m trying to sound smart.)

Whoa, those were some crazy questions. I think that most people are just intrigued with multiple births and want to be involved (hence the fascination with Discovery Health channel’s multitude of multiples!)
I think every mom gets nosy questions. I personally hate the “oh, you got your GIRL!” when people see I have 2 boys and then a girl…
people are just dumb. I hate people!!

Yeah, those people sure are dumb. Everyone knows that the question is “Are they identical or MATERNAL?” Sheesh.

I wonder if these people realize how dumb their questions are as soon as they say them. I know when I’m being a ditz it doesn’t hit me till the damage is done.
I laughed so hard reading your post because people always thought my younger brother and I were twin boys. Um, hello, I’m a girl and he’s 2 and a half years YOUNGER than me.
I think twins do make people stupid.
Judging from the comments, I guess we are all in agreement that there are a lot of very stupid people out there. I hope that now that your quota has been filled all the stupid people will now go elsewhere to torment and annoy other unsuspecting victims…just hope they don’t know how to get to Toronto. Who am I kidding, they are here…they are civil servants and clerks at Wal-Mart.
That’s funny, though I know it’s not to you, and I’d definitely be steaming if I were in your shoes. I think kids in general make people stupid. Before I had B-chan, I’d get a lot of stupid questions and comments while out with A-chan.
Well I can hardly wait to see the twins again ^^ You must really feel blessed with your twins. They are beautiful and seem so intelligent. Hope my twins grow up to be as aspiring as your kids. =)

I got a beauty this past week when I was out with my 3-year old triplets and someone asked “Oh wow! Are those twintuplets?”
