Dude, there is a comments character limit over there! So I'll leave this here ... I often feel like it's my child that's teaching me, about humanity, compassion, kindness, fairness, curiosity, sadness, anger, even outrage at all the cruelty out there ... like I'm remembering how to feel again, after so much disillusionment, disappointment and numbness. It's also been extremely humbling and I'm grateful for it. It's definitely the ultimate experience, both inspiring and heartbreaking to see the world again through his eyes. It makes me want to be a better parent and a better person, period, for him.

I still don't understand the whole mommy wars thing - even just in that, there are so many ways to be a good parent, we are all different, and so are children - as you said even children within the same family! Why would anyone proscribe one childrearing view across all families, or cut down someone who does something differently? Life is hard enough, I wish we realized us moms (and dads, too) need to stick together out there.
